Installing / Replacing the Battery

The internal battery is used when outside power to the device is halted.  After external power loss has been detected the device will begin to shut down to save the internal storage and prevent data loss.

Note: It is recommended that the battery be replaced once every 2 years, or when indicated by the device STATUS webpage that the battery is faulty.
1. Open the case by pressing down on the release tabs simultaneously on each side of the modem, then lift and remove the top casing.


2. Unplug the JST Connector at the end of the black and red wiring, cut the zip tie used to secure the battery down to the battery tray.  Remove the battery and old zip tie.



3. Replace the zip tie and battery, securing the battery down to the battery tray.  Plug in the JST Connector on the end of the black and red wiring into the JST Socket.

Note: Allow the 245 to charge the battery for 120 minutes before removing power from the unit.  If shutdown is required prior to this time use the SHUTDOWN button on the device SYSTEM page (CONFIGURATION - login required).
WARNING: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
AVERTISSEMENT: DANGER D’EXPLOSION SI LES PILES SONT REMPLACÉES DEFAÇON INCORRECT. Remplacer les piles seulement par le même type de pile.
Batteries should be recycled or disposed of as per state and local guidelines.
